Today’s Director of Perioperative Services is responsible for operations and management of more than the Operating Room. The Director coordinates activities within many defined areas including Ambulatory Surgery, Sterile Processing, Anesthesia, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, etc The Director fosters an a tmosphere of participative management and the development of collegial relationships among medical and nursing staff; serves as a link between the nursing staff and other healthcare disciplines; allocates available resources for efficient and effective nursing care enabling improved patient care.
